Toberedmond: The name is a prison, not a promise. Redmond is locked inside the well, waiting for a vessel strong enough to hold him. You want to leave? Fine. But first you must teach Toberedmond the shape of a human life. That is the real trap: it forces you to create, not escape.

Ó Danachair (1955, 209) recorded the following details about Toberedmond; ‘ "Toberedmond" on 1840 map. This well is marked in Gothic letters on the map, but there seems to be no evidence that it was ever regarded as a holy well'. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 18 June 2019
