What is recorded here
Graveslab in Inishcaltra OR Holy Island is a small undecorated stone lying in the eastern half of the Saint’s graveyard on Inis Cealtra. It measures 0.81m long and 0.39m wide, with an uneven surface partly hidden by grass. Macalister drew it on his graveyard plan in 1916-17 but never numbered it, leaving the occupant unnamed. The stone still holds its shape beside the chamber walls, waiting for the story that never reached the surveyor’s pencil.
Situated in the E half of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 6.1m from the N wall and 6.16m from the E wall. An undecorated recumbent graveslab drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV). The slab (L 0.81m; Wth 0.39m) has an uneven surface and is partially grassed over.
