Holy well in Granny

Holy well

What is recorded here

Granny holds a holy well where clean water still rises beside the field. People may have knelt at its edge, washed red marks from broken skin or dropped coins into the dark. The townland name suggests the well belonged to an old woman remembered with love rather than fear. Her identity has faded, but the water remains, waiting for someone to remember why it was kept clean.
