Gragan West Cave is a mile-long passage beneath the Poulacapple ridge in County Clare, Ireland, where water carves limestone at the edge of shale. Explorers entered through two openings in 1955, followed a narrow canyon for hundreds of yards, and stopped only when stone barriers or low ceilings blocked the way. The cave still keeps most of its length hidden, waiting for someone patient enough to find the next gap.
