What is recorded here

Gortnahoughtee holds a forgotten boundary marked by pointed wooden stakes, roughly fifteen feet apart and two feet high. Turf cutting revealed the alignment in 1943, alongside fire remains that suggest people gathered there rather than merely passing through. The stakes may have guided herds, separated fields or outlined a ceremonial place, but human ambition has erased the meaning.

In 1943, turf cutting exposed several pointed wooden stakes, roughly set in a straight line and spaced about 15 ft apart; they were approximately 2ft in height.
