Marianne and her brother climbed the earthen bank at Gorteenadrolane before dark. They lay beside the overgrown circle, listening for the faint music said to rise when people stopped pretending to understand. Marianne heard nothing but wind in the grass. Her brother heard a child singing back a tune he had forgotten he knew.

In rough grazing land, broken by rock outcrop, on W-facing slope. Heavily overgrown circular area (30m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (max. H 1.7m). Interior raised on W side to compensate for hillslope. Surrounding field fences removed. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
