Megalithic tomb in Gortakeeghan — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Four deep stones and one low boulder mark a forgotten chamber on the hillcrest, facing the Twin Lakes. The missing cairn suggests people walked past the tomb rather than climbing a buried mound. A quarter metre of shadow beneath the capstone is small enough for a child or a cat, but large enough for a secret. The forest holds the chamber steady while the lakes wait below.

Located on the crest of a hill in a forested area with commanding views of the Twin Lakes to the S. The remains consist of four deeply set orthostats, aligned E-W, and a large boulder-like capstone 0.2m to the N. The capstone rises to a height of c. 0.5m above the surrounding ground level and there is a small cavity c. 0.25m deep underneath it. No evidence of a cairn survives. Megalithic tomb in Gortakeeghan is a Neolithic portal tomb, dating to approximately 3500–2500 BCE. Its strategic hilltop location and alignment suggest it was a significant ceremonial or burial site, possibly used for communal rituals.
