Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Glenballythomas, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the Rathcroghan plateau as a circular grass-covered area bounded by an earthen bank and outer flat-bottomed fosse. A narrow entrance and slight causeway mark the southeast edge while relict field banks circle the northwest, east and south. Several barrows stand within one hundred and ten metres to the north, north-northeast and south.
On the Rathcroghan plateau. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 43.8m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.7m at W to 1. 6m at N; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) and an outer flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 5m at S to 8.2m at N; Wth of base 1.5m at S to 4.5m at N; D 0.4-0.5m). It is circumscribed by relict field banks NW-E-S. The entrance (Wth 1.4m) and slight causeway (Wth 2.6m) are at SE. Barrows (RO022-057017-; RO022-057020-) are c. 110m and c. 60m to the N and NNE respectively, and barrows (RO022-057074-; RO022-057075-; RO022-057076-) are c. 75m - c. 110m to the S.
