What is recorded here
Gallán was a three-foot standing stone on a south-east facing Cork slope, visible in pasture but absent from the 1842 map. Hartnett measured it in 1939, yet it has since disappeared. Its removal deletes a small marker of human patience, leaving only memory and an empty grade of grass.
Not shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map. In pasture, on SE-facing slope. Removed. Hartnett (1939, 57) recorded stone c. 3ft high.
