Settlement cluster in Garraunard

Settlement cluster

What is recorded here

Garraunard holds a settlement cluster where several buildings or rooms once formed one living place. The cluster still belongs to County Galway, even though its shape has faded from common memory. People may have gathered there to trade, worship, hide or simply share firelight before the land took back their names.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
