Cross-slab in Gallen

Quadrants double outlined. Square hollow 0.03m at centre. Enclosed by triple outline circle. Date likely to the early medieval period, possibly 7th to 10th century AD, based on the cross design. The hollow Anglo-Celtic cross with double-outlined quadrants may have had a Christian ritual or commemorative function, common in early Christian communities for marking sacred spaces or burials.
