Fulacht fia in Lecarrow (murrisk By.)

Situated on the eastern bank, just above the flood plain, of a small meandering stream in a sheltered hollow. Two other fulachtaí fia (MA085-006002-, MA085-006003-) lie 25m to SW and 17m to NNW, respectively. There is an enclosure (MA085-065----) on the summit of a hillock 21.5m to WSW that overlooks this and the two other fulachtaí fia. The fulacht fia is a well-defined, steep-sided horse- shoe-shaped mound (E–W c. 9.05m, N–S c. 9.3m, H c. 0.65m max.) opening to W towards the stream. Masses of burnt stone are visible on the summits of its two arms. A small pit, now grassed over, has been excavated into the summit of the southern arm.
