Flean Beg in County Limerick is a ringfort where a twenty-metre embankment once stood before ploughs and men erased it. The earth still holds a faint oval shadow, eight metres wide and barely visible, marking the footprint of a forgotten home. What was built, occupied and forgotten has been reduced to a subtle swell in pasture, but the shape remains.

On slight rise, in undulating pasture. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled, and surrounding field boundaries removed. Site now evident as low broad rise (Wth c. 8m; H c. 0.15m) enclosing oval area (c. 30m N-S; c. 22m E-W). Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
