Under a vanished fort in Fintragh, a narrow passage stretched thirty feet into darkness, no taller than a crouching person. Fagan recorded the clay and stone fort above it, but the whole site has disappeared from the rough pasture, leaving only the memory of a hole large enough to swallow a village and shallow enough to break a back.

Fagan (Bk. 19, 15) recorded a 'Fort' (DG097-010001-) of about 30yds in diameter with a clay and stone parapet. Under this was a 'cave' of considerable length. A 30ft stretch, 3ft to 5ft wide and 2ft to 3ft high was then visible. This site could not be located during the course of the survey. The area consists of rough pasture land.
