On an gentle SE-facing slope with karst outcrop. An area of about 2.5 acres (c. 1 ha) SE of cashel (RO047-044001-) has earth and stone field walls (Wth c. 1.5m; H 0.5m) generally running NE-SW, one of which is attached to the perimeter of the cashel at NE.
