On a semi-karst plateau in Rannagh West, the SE corner of a rectilinear cashel still holds its shape, measuring 25m north-south and 20m east-west within a multiperiod field system. Rough limestone flags, some standing 1.4m high, mark the outer face of the south wall while collapse and vague scarps suggest the rest has surrendered to time and pasture. A cliff drops 70m to the west, and the widest views stretch from southwest to northeast, as if the fort was built to watch the horizon rather than hide from it.

On a semi-karst plateau in rough pasture, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-), with a cliff c. 70m to the W, slightly higher ground to the E and widest views from SW to NE. Only the SE corner of a rectilinear cashel (int. dims. 25m N-S; 20m E-W) remains. The S part of the E wall is evident with associated collapse (combined Wth 3m) and the outer wall-face (H 0.6m) is intermittently visible. The E end of the S wall (Wth 1.9-2m) has some low traces of the inner wall-face and some well-built outer-facing (H 0.45-1.4m) of rough limestone flags.
