Derrydonnell More in Dunkellin By. holds a stone ringfort called a fairy fort, a name that suggests the building belongs to something else now. The stones still stand in a circle on the galway landscape, marking a place where people lived, defended or gathered before the story changed. What is missing is not the wall but the witness, the human voice that would explain who entered, who left and why the fort became fairy instead of named.
