No visible chamber or cache marks the fort, but the closed cashel and separate buildings show a lived area rather than a empty boundary. The fort may have belonged to a local leader, a seasonal trading post or a defended farm, and the missing interior does not remove the purpose of the walls. The chamberless form and nearby structures suggest a small settled community, not a abandoned ceremonial shell.

On limestone pavement with some grass cover, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-001001-). The land rises immediately to the N and c. 80m to the S. Listed as ‘Enclosure (possible)’ in the RMP (1996). A rectangular cashel (ext. dims. 40.9m E–W; 34.7m N–S) defined by low grassed-over stone walls (H 0.4–0.7m; Wth c. 1.5m). A later, roughly NNE-SSW running, drystone wall (H 1.3m) is built immediately outside the line of the E wall and another ENE-WSW running field wall is just outside the N wall. Outer wall-facing is visible intermittently along the S, W and N walls. Grassed-over spreads of stone (Wth 4-5m) are visible around the walls. An entrance-like feature (Wth 1.15m) is visible about mid-way along the E wall. It is defined by two upright stones (N stone: H 1.14m; Wth 0.45m; T 0.18m; S stone: H 1.06m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.15m) which are visible immediately inside the NNE-SSW running drystone wall. About 3m to the W of these, two further stones, flush with the ground level of the interior of the cashel, mark what appears to be a raised pathway (H 0.3m; basal Wth c. 2m; upper Wth c. 1m) that leads towards a centrally located rectangular house (CL009-009002-). Another structure (CL009-009003-) is visible against the W wall and there is a small cell-like structure (int. dims. 5m E–W; 4.6m N–S) in the SW angle.
