Half buried in Longstones grass, the fort keeps its shape because rock and memory refuse to let it fade. A narrow gap opens in the eastern bank, inviting entry into a space small enough for one household yet large enough for a whole life. The fairies may have built it, but human hands likely shaped the stones, marked the boundary and lived inside the circle before forgetting the name.

Situated at the W edge of a N-S ridge of rock outcrop. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 25.2m N-S; 24.8m E-W; int. diam. 21.5m N-S; 21m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3-5m; int. H 0.5-0.8m) NW-E-SW, which might conceal the base of a stone wall. This is separated by a berm (at E: Wth 3m) from an outer bank (at E: Wth 3m; H 0.2-0.4m) and intermittent traces of an outer fosse (at E: Wth of top 6.4m; Wth of base 3m; D 0.2m) N-E-S. The perimeter on the line of the inner bank is defined by a cliff (H c. 4m) SSW-N. There is an entrance (Wth 1.4m) through the inner bank at SE.
