What is recorded here
Fairy fort / ringfort in Grange (coolock By., Malahide Ed) is a vanished ringfort in County Dublin, Ireland. Aerial photography revealed two circular shadows in the fields, but ploughs have since erased the ditches from human sight. The land keeps its own calendar, hiding what it wishes and revealing only when ready.
Situated in undulating ground under tillage. An aerial photograph taken in 1966 (CUCAP, AOZ 51) shows cropmark evidence for a single-ditched enclosure, roughly circular in plan (diam. c. 45m). There is another cropmark enclosure (diam. c. 10m ) W of the site (DU015-003002-). Also visible on Bing (viewed 24/01/2014). These are probably ploughed out remains of ringforts. Not visible at ground level.
