Fairy fort / ringfort in Drumduffy

Situated on the W-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge. It is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped feature defined by road banks at W and S and a curved hadhured feature NW-E-SE. This is a grass and rush-covered subrectangular area (int. dims 24m E-W; 23m N-S) defined by a stone wall footing (Wth 2m; H 0.2m) at N, a scarp (Wth 3m; H 0.9m) at E and field banks at S and W. It remains unplanted in a coniferous forest (Bing 2013). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
