Fairy fort in Tooms East, County Cork: a circular earthen enclosure about twenty metres across, mapped in 1842 atop a steep north-facing pasture knoll. It has been levelled, leaving no visible trace, while a higher spring still waterlogs the ground where the ring stood. People may have lived inside that small circle before the land took it back, or the fairies may have simply refused to be measured.
