Fairy fort in Templemary, County Cork: a circular earthen ring about twenty metres across on a gentle east-facing slope, recorded on the 1842 Ordnance Survey map and now levelled, with no visible trace left in the pasture. It may have been a boundary marker, a shelter, a childhood game, or a forgotten home; the land has taken it back. What remains is the shape of absence, a ring of grass that once resisted being ordinary.
