Fairy fort in Stramaquerty, County Cavan: a raised circular area about 33 metres across, enclosed by two low earthen banks with a shallow fosse between them. The outer bank has been levelled, and farm buildings now run along the outer edge of the fosse from north-east through east to south-south-east. The original entrance is no longer recognisable, but the ring remains: a quiet human shape under ordinary farm life, perhaps still marked in soil and shadow when the light goes low.
