Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Sranacrannaghy: a grass and rush-covered circular area, nearly twenty metres across, defined by an overgrown earthen bank partly absorbed into a field bank on a drumlin spur in County Leitrim. No entrance or ditch remains visible, yet the shape is unmistakably made rather than born. People may have stood inside it, marked it, feared it or simply walked past it after dark; the earth has kept the circle while forgetting the hands that turned it.

Located at the tip of a NW-SE spur on the SE side of a drumlin. This is a grass and rush-covered circular area (int. diam. 19.6m N-S; 19.3m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.3m) WNW-NE which is incorporated into a field bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.8-1.1m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse and the original entrance is not identified. Field banks are attached to the perimeter at NE, S and NW. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
