Fairy fort in Shanavally, Ballymartle Parish, County Cork: a 30-metre earthen ring, bank nearly two metres high, stone-faced in places, with two gaps and a shallow inner ridge. It stands in pasture on a gentle slope, old enough to belong before maps, used perhaps for keeping people, stock, fire or memory safe. The fairies may have taken it back, but the shape still holds its ground.

In pasture, on gentle NNW-facing slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 29.7m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.95m), stone faced in parts; external fosse to SW. Gap in bank to NNE (Wth 3.6m) and SW (Wth 2m). Interior slopes gently down to N; low ridge crosses interior on N-S axis.
