What is recorded here

Situated on SE-facing slope of a large ridge running E-W, in pasture, with extensive views to S and overlooked by higher ground to N. A ringfort (WM030-060----) lies c. 180m to W. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1973 as a roughly circular-shaped area (diam. 35m) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is of earth and stone and the fosse is shallow. The interior is relatively level and there is a stone-lined entrance at E. Levelled monument described in 1979 as no surface remains visible of ringfort. Levelled monument is visible today as a faint roughly oval-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photography.
