What is recorded here

In improved pasture, on highest point of land (465ft) in this vicinity of gently undulating countryside. Circular area (dims. 37m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by substantial earthen bank (overall Wth 7.6m; Wth at top 1.25m; int. H 1.0m; ext. H 1.15m) with the top sloping inwards. Gap (overall Wth 5.5m; basal Wth 2.5m) at SSE corresponds with causewayed entrance. Outer part of causeway removed on its E-side. Fosse (overall Wth 8.75m; basal Wth 3.3m; D 1.5m) is extremely deep in places, particularly around W-arc, where clearly seen. Fosse otherwise overgrown by overhang of vegetation from bank and exterior. Interior slopes down gently to N and is obscured by vegetation around perimeter. Ringfort (TS061-119----) is c. 180m to NW.
