What is recorded here

No visible fort remains in Moneen, only a hidden ridge beneath grass and memory. The land still holds the shape of a ring, waiting for rain or foottraffic to reveal its edges. What was built there has returned to the field, but the field has not forgotten the shape.

In rolling pasture. Depicted on 1934 OS 6-inch map as arc of hachures forming scarp SW->NE, which extends out from kink in field boundary to S. Roughly circular area (30m N-S; 24m E-W) defined by low rise to E which runs into field boundary ESE->SW; scarp (H 0.3m) elsewhere. Field boundary which incorporates bank is stone faced and overgrown. Multiple cist cairn (CO027-069---) c. 50m to W.
