Monee West holds a forgotten fort hidden beneath pasture and quarry scars. The fort field still bears the name, but the ring itself has vanished into stone and memory. What remains is a suggestion: a place where people lived, defended, and disappeared.

In undulating pasture, on S-facing slope. According to local information, field called the 'fort field'; stoney area at S corner of field, next to area of ground cut back from stream, is now locally thought to be location of ringfort. Stoney surface may be as a result of gravel quarrying; ideally, site of ringfort would have been higher up in field.
