What is recorded here

Mogeely Lower held a forty-metre circular fort on level ground, visible on the 1842 map before ploughs erased its edges. It was a human dwelling, perhaps defended, perhaps simply marked, but the land later forgot the shape and kept only a vague swell in the soil. The fairies took the credit because people preferred magic to mundane loss.

On level ground. Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m); with concentric field fence outside bank E->W. Levelled; low undulations in field; no other surface trace.
