What is recorded here

Thirty-one metres wide and forty-one metres long, the Loughturk West ringfort still stands with two banks and a ditch cutting through grass. A three-metre gap on the east side may have been the entrance, inviting people rather than warning them away. The shape is not perfect, but it is honest: a place for living, not for display.

Some 90m SSW of a ringfort (GA099-143----). Subcircular rath (N-S 41m, E-W 31m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The fosse and outer bank survive from NW through N to NE. A gap (Wth 3m) at E may be original.
