Fairy fort in Loughane More, County Cork: a circular earthen ringfort, 22 metres across, with a 3.5-metre bank, stone-facing inside, stone walling on the east, a gap to the north, and a man-made underground passage in the centre. It stands on a south-facing slope in pasture, old enough to have become local legend, yet clear enough in its shape to suggest human hands, human purpose, and perhaps human fear or wonder at what lived beneath the ground.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised area (22.3m N-S; 22.2m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 3.5m), with internal stone facing; stone walling replaces earthen bank ENE->E. Gap in bank to N. Man-made underground passage (CO126-019002) in centre. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
