What is recorded here

On a gentle N-facing slope with a stream running E-W c. 20m to the N, in gently undulating pastureland. Roughly circular area (diam. 21.5m N-S; c. 22m E-W on 25-inch map) enclosed by inner bank (Wth 1.7m crest, 3.9m base; int. H 0.67m; ext. H 1.13m); wide, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 4m; D 1.13m) and outer bank (Wth 2m crest, 4m base; ext. H 0.73m) and evidence of outer fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.3m) in the NE quadrant. Both banks are of earthen construction and have quite a steep profile. The interior is quite heavily overgrown with scrub. There is a large break in the outer bank (Wth 6m) in S quadrant. Narrow steep-sided field drain dug along outer face of outer bank in E quadrant. Narrow gap (Wth 1.5m) in NW quadrant caused by cattle. No visible evidence of entrance through both banks.
