No fairy fort in Lisduane. That is a misreading of the facts. The place is an earthen ringfort in County Limerick, Ireland, with a roughly circular interior about thirty metres across, a low scarped edge, and a shallow external fosse. It sits in pasture on level ground, partly hidden by overgrowth and shaped by later field boundaries. The clear fact is that this is a human-made defensive or domestic enclosure, not a fairy tale.

In pasture, on level terrain. Roughly circular area (29.9m NE-SW) defined by scarped edge (H 0.25m; Wth 3.8m) NE->SW, with external fosse (Wth 1.4m; D 0.2m) ENE->SSW. Enclosing elements is covered by dense overgrowth SW->NE, but 1923 OS 6-inch map suggests it is truncated here by field boundaries forming NW corner of field. Level interior is under pasture.
