Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Knockreagh (magunihy By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Knockreagh holds a forgotten circular enclosure thirty metres across, buried beneath pasture and memory on a gentle slope. The land swallowed the rath until an 1895 survey recovered its ghost line, proving the boundary still touched the western edge. What was lost is not gone, only waiting for someone steady enough to listen.
In pasture, on a gentle SW-facing slope. The rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) incorporated into the field boundary system along its W arc.
