What is recorded here

Knockogonnell holds a faded circular rath twenty-six metres across, joined by a shallow ditch and tucked among neighbouring forts in North Galway. People may have lived there, farmed around it or simply marked the land with a ring of soil. The fairies keep the odd name and the forgotten shape, waiting for someone to walk the bench and imagine what the ditch excluded.

Some 130m E of a ringfort (GA007-088----). Poorly preserved almost circular rath (E-W 26m, N-S 25m) defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter survives from SW through N to NE. An enclosure (GA007-092----) lies c. 150m to S and a ringfort (GA007-090----) c. 170m to E.
