What is recorded here

Knocknacolan holds a broken earthen ring where human hands shaped the land before memory faded. That much is certain. What lives inside the gap is story: a fortress for fairies, a forgotten farm, or a boundary marker for a family no longer named. The rubble mound and modern shed prove the place stopped belonging to itself long ago. They also prove it kept giving itself up, first to people, then to forgetting, then to you asking the question.

In pasture, on W-facing slope. Circular area (33m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.5m); external fosse (D 0.8m) NW->SSE. Bank planted with coniferous trees; break in bank to SSE (Wth 3.4m) and NW (Wth 3.5m); NW break flanked by gate piers. Interior used as rubbage dump; large elongated mound of rubble dumped N-S across centre; shed built against inner face of W bank. Circular enclosure (CO023-306---) c. 30m to SE.
