Kilcooly South, County Kerry: a circular earthen enclosure marked on the 1841-42 Ordnance Survey map, absent from the 1916 edition, with no surviving surface trace. It may have been a farmstead boundary, a seasonal gathering place or a boundary marker for a field system now lost. In local usage such rings are called fairy forts, which suggests people treated them as charged rather than ordinary.

This circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 OS map, but it does not appear on the later edition of 1916 and no surface trace survives today. The above description is derived from C.
