Mortals build rings to keep out what they fear. Fairy forts break that assumption. They are not human at all. They are cages. The ring is the visible part. The chamber is underneath. The chamber is locked. The chamber is waiting for the right victim to speak the name of the place.

In pasture, on break in SE-facing slope. Circular area (34.5m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m) with external fosse (max. D 1m). Break in bank to ESE. Fosse maintains uniform depth W->NW, elsewhere either filled with field clearance stones or overgrown with briars and gorse. Interior raised on SE side to compensate for hillslope.
