What is recorded here

In wet pasture on N bank of Keale River that marks the townland boundary with Darragh Beg. Not depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. It is shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised circular-shaped mound (diam. c. 10m) enclosed by a fosse. No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 or on Google Earth orthoimages. A Neolithic mound barrow; its survival in a wet pasture setting is significant for understanding early funerary practices in the region.
