What is recorded here

Kilclooney holds a faded earthen ring on a south-facing slope, marking one of many ordinary residence sites scattered across North Cork. People likely lived there before the land turned to pasture, but the earth has swallowed their names and tools. The bank still rises eighty centimetres outside, prompting imagination about forgotten hands and lost years rather than certain facts.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Oval area (26m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.8m). Field clearance material dumped on bank NE->SW and in part of interior.
