Keale North holds a single-ramparted fort named Lios a Thornora, the Fort of the wheel-wright. Mrs Buckley's residence now sits directly upon the ancient earthworks, turning a mundane home into a strange vessel for forgotten craft. The building may cover a man-made underground passage, suggesting the wheel-wright still turns beneath the floorboards while people sleep above his hidden gallery.

Bowman (1934, 288) recorded single-ramparted fort called 'LIOS A THORNORA - Fort of the wheel-wright'; Mrs Buckley's residence is built on site.
