What is recorded here

In 1836 three 'old forts' were recorded in the townland of Greyfield (OSNB vol. 1, 423). The locations of two of these (SL044-019----; SL044-021----) are known but the third remains unlocated. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
