Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Glenbane East

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Glenbane East once held a thirty-metre earthen ring, visible on the 1841 survey but lost beneath later farm buildings. The land swallowed the boundary, turning ancient stone and soil into ordinary ground. What remains is a ghost in the dirt, waiting for someone to stop measuring and start listening.
Monument, depicted as roughly circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, is no longer apparent as site now occupied by farm buildings. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
