Situated on top of a drumlin. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 39.3m E-W; 38m N-S) that slopes down slightly to the NE defined by a scarp (at S: Wth 0.7m; H 1.15m) and hedge with traces of an outer stone facing, and an outer fosse or drain (at S: Wth of top 3m; Wth of base 1.3m; D 0.7m). The original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
