Located on a low rise in a gently undulating low-lying landscape. This is a slightly raised circular grass-covered area (diam. 34.2m ENE-WSW; 31m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 6.2-7m; int. H 0.2-0.6m; ext. H 1.8-2m) and hedge with remnants of an external stone facing. There is no visible fosse, but the entrance (Wth of base 2.2m) is at SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
