What is recorded here

Half a metre of scarped earth still marks the ring, though a road now cuts clean through its centre. The northern half lies level under scattered rocks while the southern half undulates in shadow, both halves belonging to the same forgotten circle. Dromloughan North keeps this broken fort in ordinary pasture, visible only if someone looks for the line where the ground rises and falls without reason.

In gently undulating pasture with moderate to poor views in all directions,166m E of townland boundary with Fearoe, enclosures (LI022-060/-059----) lie 122m to SW and 200m to NW respectively. Depicted on the 1840 OS 6-inch map as a circular-shaped enclosure bisected by a public road running E-W. Present remains consists of slightly raised circular shaped area (22m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.5m) the interior of which is bisected by a public road (Wth 4.3m) running E-W through the site. The N half of the interior is level, lightly overgrown and strewn with rocks. The S half is undulating, strewn with small rocks and overgrown. The monument is visible overgrown with trees bisected by the road on the Google Earth orthoimages taken 14/02/2020.
