No human ever entered the fort, yet the boundary still cuts through soil and memory. The refusal to show itself is the shape of the fort: a circle drawn around the watcher instead of the watched. What was withheld from the lens may have been withheld from the claim being made.

Though not marked on the 1841-42 OS map, this circular enclosure appears on the later edition of 1939 N of Dromalught Cottage. However, no permission was given to inspect the site. This circular enclosure also shows up on the Geological Survey of Ireland's aerial photographs (1977) as a crop mark. The above description is derived from C.
