Fairy fort in Derryroe is an 18-metre earthen ring, one metre high, still standing in pasture. It is the kind of place people once walked past quickly at dusk, not from fear of stones but from the feeling that the circle watched back. Perhaps it marked a boundary between human fields and something older. The land kept its shape while the explanation slipped away.
